Your site is filled with AMAZING information ! Thank You for that ! I am a student about to take a muscle test with action, origin, and insertion of 60 muscles and that's only half the test. Your info has given me more back up to memorize it better! Great Job !

I love your site. I just found it while searching for nursing info! I am currently a Pharmacy Technician but I plan to study to be a nurse to get a BSN and am taking a few pre-reqs. Your site really lets me explore. Thanks!

I want to become an RN too but it is taking me awhile to get there and at times I feel like it's never going to happen for me but then I remember not to give up and keep plugging away until I can offically apply to an ADN Program. Reading your journal has inspired me to keep going because I will get there I just have to keep going and work hard & I will get there. Thanks so very much for sharing your journey!!!!

Good for you for accomplishing a goal you set. I am also a nurse and I know how hard it can be...you should be proud of yourself.

Thanks to both of you for your info. I live South of Dallas, so I will try for one of the Mountain View instructors. If I do well in the A&P 1, I will apply for the Spring semester of Nursing School. It seems like yesterday, I started reading as you were beginning your journey. I hope the time goes as fast for me, once I am accepted.

Thanks Rachael! :)

Margo Silva the name of the instructor I was referring to. Thanks...I couldn't remember. She was listed on my schedule as the instructor, but she didn't actually teach my 'lab only' class.

Hey Mi'Shelle!

Girl, I cannot believe that you are now officially an RN! I'm so excited & happy for you! I met you when you were where I am now - fixing to go into 3rd semester. Just found out my rotation will be at Parkland with Jolly Thomas (I hear she is new), so Im pretty excited about my assignment. Man, I'm just not excited about doing med/surg. I'm much more interested in neonatal ICU, nursery, or L&D/PP. Best wishes to you as you start your first official RN job - You have been such a huge help every single time I needed it, and I hope that I can be as supportive to my juniors as you are. Thanks for reminding us all that there is a light at the end of the tunnel & for all of your prayers, guidance, and tricks of the trade. I appreciate you & am grateful for your friendship.

Sincerely,
Rachael

Hi Donna -

I HIGHLY recommend Margo Silva or Debby Sutton for A&P at Mountain View. I had the pleasure of being their student for A&P 1 & 2 and microbiology. These ladies are sweet and friendly but they are tough & you WILL learn. Ms. Silva tells her classes that her class will seem like Kindergarten by the time you are in nursing school & she is right! Just my two cents - I would NOT be where I am today without these awesome, awesome teachers. THEY CARE if you care!

Best wishes,
Rachael

Hi Donna...

The only one I know of at those particular schools would be "Fox" for Chemistry at Mountain View. There was a lady A&P instructor there who everyone said was tough, but excellent, but I was taught A&P 2 by a 'fill in' lab instructor. My lecture was on video.

If you decide on North Lake by chance, go with Dr. Kelly Sexton for A&P. He has a passion for teaching, and is extremely knowledgeable!! We had to learn more than other classes, but if you're determined, it's possible to make an A!

Do you know of any teachers you would recommend for Anatomy & Physiology, and Chemistry at El Centro, Mountain View or Cedar Valley? Thanks.

I just found your site and it's great! I am heading into my second semster of nursing school (med/surg and ob/peds). Reading that you graduated, took and passed the NCLEX and are an official RN is very motivating for me! I'm so proud of you. Thanks for all the helpful stuff on this site.

Thank you Shar and Grace, good luck to you both.

Grace, take one day at a time. It's hard with a family, but it can be done. :)

Also if you are looking or know of people who are looking for nursing school (RN only) scholarships or loan repayment...tell them to go to the following: www.hrsa.gov; click on health professions or Nursing...then click on Nursing ...it will bring up the Nurse Education Loan Repayment program and the nursing scholarship (these are with the Fed gov't not state)...e-mail me anytime tedrawilliams@cox.net
